At least 26 people were injured in a collision between a bus and a tipper truck on the Colombo–Batticaloa main road in the Minneriya and Batu Oya area early this morning (12), police said.
The accident occurred at around 3 a.m. when a bus traveling from Maduru Oya towards Colombo collided head-on with the truck.
The injured were admitted to hospitals in Polonnaruwa, Minneriya, and Higurakgoda, with several reported to be in critical condition, hospital sources said.
