Police say the victim targeted by unidentified gunmen in Peliyagoda yesterday has succumbed to injuries.
According to the Police, gunmen on a motorcycle had opened fire at an individual travelling on a motorcycle on Gnanarathana Mawatha in Peliyagoda.
The victim had been injured, while another person nearby had also been injured in the shooting.
Both injured persons had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, after which the person targeted by the gunmen had succumbed to injuries.
The deceased is a 45-year-old man from Colombo 15.
The gunmen had fled the area following the shooting. The Peliyagoda Police have launched investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
