Mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of Sri Lanka today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
However, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces and in Mullaittivu district after 2.00 pm.

Winds will be westerly to south-westerly, and wind speed will be 25-35 kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 50-55 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
