First female Registrar General of Sri Lanka assumes duties

Newly appointed Registrar General, Sasidevi Jaladeepan, officially assumed duties today (26).

With over 160 years of history, the Department of the Registrar General marks a historic milestone as Jaladeepan becomes the first woman to hold this position.

Jaladeepan joined the Sri Lankan Administrative Service in 2003 and has previously served as Divisional Secretary in Trincomalee and Dimbulagala.

She has held the post of Senior Assistant Secretary in several ministries, including the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Development, the State Ministry of Economic Policies, and the State Ministry of Finance, Capital Markets, and Enterprise Reforms.

Most recently, she served as Director at the Department of Project Management and Monitoring, and her final posting before her new appointment was as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government. (Newswire)
