Police said a shooting incident targeting the owner of a restaurant on Beach Road, Matara, was reported on Tuesday, but no injuries were caused.
According to investigators, unidentified gunmen opened fire near the restaurant before fleeing the scene. Officers later recovered a pistol and four rounds of ammunition from the location.
The motive for the attack is yet to be established. Police have launched a search operation to apprehend the suspects. (Newswire)
