The Ministry of Energy says the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has been restructured into four separate state-owned entities, it is reported.
According to the Energy Ministry, the restructure has been implemented under the Sri Lanka Electricity (Amendment) Bill, which was passed in Parliament on 06th August.
The CEB has been restructured into four separate state-owned entities, identified as the National System Operator, National Transmission Network Service Provider, Electricity Distribution Lanka, and Electricity Generation Lanka.
Following the restructure, current CEB employees have been granted 02 months to apply for a transfer to a company of their choice, while those who do not wish to be transferred are to be offered a retirement compensation scheme.
The Energy Ministry further said that senior management positions in the new institutions will be filled from the current CEB staff. (Newswire)
