Police seek public help to arrest two wanted suspects

The Sri Lankan Police has sought the assistance of the public to apprehend two wanted suspects.

The Police have sought public help to arrest a suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a woman in Mathugama. 

According to the Police, the suspect had slit the throat of the woman in the Dholahena Watte area of Mathugama in April this year. 

The Police further said that the suspect, a 41-year-old resident of Mathugama, has fled the area. 

The public with information on the suspect has been requested to contact the Police via the telephone numbers 071-8591700 or 071-8591701.

Meanwhile, the Police have also sought the help of the public to arrest a woman who had defrauded Rs. 03 million under the pretext of providing jobs overseas.

The Rakwana Police had launched a probe into the incident based on complaints filed by five women.

As the 41-year-old woman has fled her area of residence and is in hiding, the Police have sought public assistance to arrest her.
