Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting incident in Wennappuwa on Sunday, in which one person was killed and another seriously injured.
Three unidentified individuals in a car had attacked two people travelling on a motorcycle in the Wewa Road area of Wennappuwa yesterday.
The assailants had used sharp weapons and opened fire, resulting in the death of one victim and serious injuries to the other, who was subsequently hospitalized.
One suspect involved in the crime was apprehended by the Wennappuwa Police within moments of the incident.
Following further investigations, a team of officers from the Wennappuwa Police arrested the remaining two suspects later that night in Wennappuwa Town.
The arrested suspects are aged 26 and 29 and are residents of the Wennappuwa area.
The Wennappuwa Police are continuing investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
