A new holiday resort built for police officers was opened Monday next to the Wankale Police Station.
Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya, an attorney-at-law, presided over the opening of the Sunset Holiday Resort.
The facility was constructed with the labor contribution of officers from the Mannar Divisional Engineering Division. Funding was provided through divisional grants.
Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Northern Province Thilak C.A. Dhanapala, Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Wanni District Samantha Wijesekera, and Senior Superintendents of Police W\.K.A.J. Eric Ranjith and L.Y.A. Chandrapala attended the ceremony. Chief Inspector Kelum Darshana Seneviratne, officer in charge of the Wankale station, was also present.
The resort is intended to provide police officers with a dedicated space for rest and recreation. (Newswire)
