Three individuals were reported dead in separate accidents on Thursday (04 Sept).
A 39-year-old man from Balangoda died after falling into a well while cleaning it with friends in Galtamyaya, Kalthota. He is believed to have fainted before falling in. The body is kept at the Balangoda Hospital morgue.
A 70-year-old woman from Gonapola died after being hit by a van while crossing the Panadura-Ratnapura road at Pokunuwita. She was admitted to Bandaragama Hospital, where she later died.
A 34-year-old pedestrian from Minneriya was fatally struck by a van being towed near the Minneriya Army camp. He succumbed to injuries at Hingurakgoda Hospital. (Newswire)
