The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory warning of warm weather conditions in 12 districts.
The heat index, or the temperature felt on the human body, is expected to reach ‘Caution’ levels in parts of the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern provinces, as well as in Monaragala and Hambantota districts.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions, including staying hydrated, limiting strenuous outdoor activities, wearing light-colored clothing, and avoiding leaving children unattended in vehicles. Special care has also been urged for the elderly and the sick. (NewsWire)
