An US attorney named Mark S. Zuckerberg has sued Meta Platforms Inc., alleging the company repeatedly suspended his Facebook accounts for impersonating its billionaire founder.
Zuckerberg, a bankruptcy lawyer, said his personal and business accounts were taken down several times over the past eight years, costing him about US$11,000 in advertising expenses. He compared the suspensions to paying for a billboard that gets covered before it can be seen.
The lawsuit claims the mistaken identity caused financial losses and personal disruption. He said he has also faced online harassment and legal confusion because of his name.
Meta later reinstated his account and said the suspensions were errors. The company said it is working on improvements to prevent similar problems. (Newswire)
