Speaking at a media briefing, Deputy Minister of Public Security Sunil Watagala revealed photographs of politicians and alleged that they were linked to the owners of containers used to smuggle chemicals intended for drug production.
“These politicians are behind the supply chain of this drug syndicate. We are conducting investigations and will take action regardless of their status,” he said.
He further noted that during the investigations, some politicians had left the country, citing postgraduate studies or health reasons, while others had suddenly disappeared.
Watagala stressed that the government will conduct a thorough investigation to identify those involved in the supply chain and expose who is actually behind the drug trade. (NewsWire)
