Colombo Magistrate’s Court ordered that a suspect arrested for allegedly filming the convoy of the Chief Justice be remanded until September 10.
The suspect, taken into custody by the Kurunduwatta Police, was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama. Police informed court that further investigations are underway and requested an order to send the suspect’s mobile phone to the Government Analyst for examination.
Appearing on behalf of the suspect, counsel told the court that his client was remorseful over photographing the convoy and requested that he be released on bail.
After considering submissions, the Magistrate ordered the suspect to be held in remand custody until September 10 and directed that his mobile phone be referred to the Government Analyst for a report. (Newswire)
