A video, which surfaced today (Sept 9), shows a man identified as Nepal’s Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel being chased on a road and thrashed by demonstrators.
In the video, over two dozen people were seen chasing the man who was running for his life. One person was seen kicking, and others beating him up.
Protests in Nepal have escalated a day after Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli revoked a ban on social media, a key trigger for the nationwide protests.
Sharma Oli resigned on Tuesday, following violent anti-corruption protests that defied an indefinite curfew and left 19 people dead and over 100 injured.
Three ministers also resigned in the wake of the unrest, which was sparked by allegations of government corruption. (Newswire/ Indian Express)
