The owner of the bus involved in the recent tragic accident in Ella has been arrested by the Police.
According to the Police, the man was arrested for failing to properly maintain the vehicle used in public transportation.
The 41-year-old resident of Angunukolapelessa was arrested by the Ella Police yesterday.
He is due to be produced before the Bandarawela Magistrate’s Court today.
A total of 15 people were killed and 18 were injured after the bus hit an SUV and fell into a precipice in Ella last week (04).
At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying municipal employees and their families returning from a Nuwara Eliya excursion. (Newswire)
