Colombo Central Bus Stand renovation programme launched

The renovation of the Colombo Central Bus Stand in Pettah commenced this morning under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

It is reported that this marks the first major upgrade to the facility since its construction in 1964.

The Pettah Central bus stand is being renovated under the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ national programme at an estimated cost of Rs. 425 million.

The work will be conducted with the direct labour contribution of the Sri Lanka Air Force and the support and cooperation of the Colombo Municipal Council, Lanka Electricity Board, National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Road Development Authority, Urban Development Authority, and other institutions.
