Former local government member Sampath Manamperi is prepared to surrender to court, his attorneys informed the Court of Appeal today.
Manamperi, a former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna member, is wanted in connection with the possession of chemicals used in the production of Crystal Meth (ICE), following a discovery made in Middeniya.
The Court of Appeal instructed the Inspector General of Police to ensure Manamperi’s security upon his surrender and directed that investigating officers be informed of the development.
The order followed consideration of a writ petition filed by his legal team. (Newswire)
