Cabinet approval has been granted for the government’s programme of the Parliament on the submission of the Appropriation Bill for the financial year 2026.
Approval of the Cabinet of Ministers was granted at their meeting held on 08th September to publish the Appropriation Bill for the financial year 2026 in the government gazette notification and thereby submit the same to the Parliament.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers granted their consent to the proposal submitted by the Prime Minister on the following programme of the Parliament for the submission of the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
- First reading of the Appropriation Bill – 26.09.2025
- Second reading of the Appropriation Bill – 07.11.2025
- Budget debate on second reading – from 08.11.2025 to 14.11.2025
- Third reading (Budget Committee Stage)– from 15.11.2025 to 05.12.2025
