The scheduled nine-hour water cut for several areas in Colombo on Thursday (18) has been cancelled, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said in a statement.
Previously, the water Board had informed that water supply from the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant would be suspended due to a planned electricity outage at the main Thulhiriya pumping station, which provides water to the facility.
However, in a subsequent notice, the Water Board clarified that the water cut will no longer take place in the following areas:
Areas where water supply will not be interrupted:
- Colombo 01 to 15
- Battaramulla, Pelawatte, Hokandara, Koswatta, Thalawathugoda, Kotte, Rajagiriya, Mirihana, Madivela, Nugegoda, Nawala, Kolonnawa, IDH, Kotikawatta, Angoda, Wellampitiya, Orugodawatta, Mulleriyawa, Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, Dehiwala, Ratmalana, Moratuwa.
