The Director of the Police Traffic Control and Road Safety Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manoj Ranagala, says the rule will be strictly enforced regarding name boards and designations displayed on vehicle windscreens.
Speaking during a televised discussion, SSP Ranagala explained that up to one-fifth of a vehicle’s windscreen area may be tinted to protect against sunlight, but apart from that, only the revenue licence may be displayed.
When questioned about government officials and others displaying their positions on windscreens, he stressed that the law applies equally to everyone and action will be taken against violations.
