Nelu flower blooms at Horton Plains for first time in 12 years

A rare blooming of the ‘Nelu flower’ has been reported at the Hortain Plains National Park.

It is reported that the blooming has taken place after a period of 12 years at the tourist attraction. 

Strobilanthes (Nelu flower) is a large genus of about 350 species of flowering plants native to tropical Asia, and in many cases, with infrequent, long-cycle mass blooming events. (Newswire)
