Officers from the Coast Conservation Department this morning (Oct. 10) demolished unauthorized structures that had been built along the Unawatuna beach in Galle.
The operation briefly turned tense, prompting police officers to be deployed to maintain order. The demolitions were carried out under police protection and were continuing at the site at the time of reporting. (Newswire)
