Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra yesterday addressed members of the diplomatic community and the business sector at a special briefing organized in collaboration with Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chairman Krishan Balendra and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
The session was held ahead of the *Sri Lanka Economic & Investment Summit 2025*, scheduled to take place in December, and focused on strengthening partnerships among the government, diplomatic missions, and the private sector to position Sri Lanka as a regional hub for trade, investment, and innovation.
Officials highlighted the country’s strong economic recovery and renewed investor confidence, citing progress in fiscal reforms, macroeconomic stability, and long-term policy consistency. They noted that Sri Lanka’s skilled workforce and modernized investment framework were attracting growing international interest in responsible and high-value ventures.
Deputy Minister Hemachandra encouraged the active participation of international partners and investors at the upcoming summit, underscoring that Sri Lanka remains committed to a path of sustainable and shared prosperity. (Newswire)
