Train derails near Ihalakotte; Upcountry Line services disrupted

A train derailed near the Ihalakotte railway station this evening, disrupting services along Sri Lanka’s Upcountry Line, the Railway Department said.

Officials said that railway engineers and recovery teams have been dispatched to the site to assess the damage and begin restoration work. (Newswire)
