Coca-Cola, the Official Beverage Partner of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, is driving sustainability and community engagement through its flagship local initiative – “Give Back Life” during the tournament matches held in Colombo. The initiative reinforces Coca-Cola’s vision for a “World Without Waste” by helping collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle and can sold, in line with the Coca-Cola system’s voluntary environmental goals for 2035.
Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka, in collaboration with Neptune Recyclers, has installed PET collection bins across the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. These bins enable responsible disposal and recycling of used PET bottles generated during match days. The program mobilizes waste collectors, recyclers, and volunteers, to ensure collected bottles are properly processed through authorized recycling channels, strengthening Sri Lanka’s waste management system. These actions reflect Coca-Cola system’s commitment to building an efficient recycling system that empowers communities while minimizing environmental impact.
“Women’s cricket today has evolved tremendously, expanding the reach of the sport and bridging gaps across communities through unity,” said Pradip Pandey, Managing Director of Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka. “With the growing attraction of the ICC Women’s World Cup, it provides us with a unique opportunity to bring everyone together to champion sustainability and ensure that every bottle gets a second life through sustainable recycling.”
By embedding sustainability into one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka is helping advance the Coca-Cola system’s voluntary environmental goals. The initiative demonstrates how global commitments can create local impact through partnership, innovation, and shared responsibility.
