‘Sri Lankan Day’ national program to be held in December

Cabinet approval has been granted to conduct the ‘Sri Lankan Day’ national program on 12, 13, and 14 December 2025.

Accordingly, the event will be held at the Colombo Town Hall grounds, Vihara Maha Devi Park, and adjoining roads, with the participation of the public and private sectors in four zones. 

The national programme was proposed in the Budget Speech 2025 by the President with the objective of creating a harmonious Sri Lanka by developing understanding among communities.

The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing this programme. 

The programme has been prepared to be held in a manner that represents all ethnicities, religions, and cultural elements, as well as the food cultures of each district, local industry exhibitions and sales, and the introduction of new product opportunities. 

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Buddhasāsana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, to conduct the ‘Sri Lankan Day’ national programme in December. (Newswire)
