
A fire broke out on the Rajarata Rejini train operating from Anuradhapura to Beliatta today.
According to the Department of Railways, the fire originated in the engine compartment, and the cause has not yet been determined.
Following the incident, the train was taken back to the Anuradhapura railway station, where steps were taken to attach a replacement engine.
The fire occurred on the Rajarata Rejini train that was scheduled to depart from Anuradhapura at 5:00 am today.
As a result, the train’s departure was delayed by more than two hours, and it resumed its journey toward Beliatta at approximately 7:30 am, according to the Department of Railways. (Newswire/ Image- Accident1st)
