The Asia Cup is returning in two fresh avatars, with the launch of the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament in Doha from November 14 to 23.

The revamped competition replaces the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup and will feature all eight teams from the main Asia Cup event, promising another India–Pakistan showdown.

Under the new format, the five Test-playing nations — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan — will field their “A” teams, while associate members Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong will compete with their full senior squads.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has positioned the Rising Stars event as a key platform to develop next-generation talent across the continent. The 10-day competition will be played in Doha and feature 15 matches, including semifinals and a final on November 23. (Newswire)
