The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber-level Warm Weather Advisory for parts of Sri Lanka, warning of rising temperatures that may cause discomfort and health risks.
According to the advisory issued at 3:30 p.m. on November 2 and valid for November 3, 2025, the heat index — the temperature felt on the human body — is expected to increase up to the “Caution level” in several areas of the Eastern Province as well as the Polonnaruwa and Monaragala districts.
Residents in these areas are urged to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses, such as staying hydrated, wearing light clothing, and avoiding prolonged outdoor exposure during midday hours. (Newswire)
