‘Ratama Ekata’ operation: Over 3,300 arrested in three days

The “Ratama Ekata” (A Nation United) national anti-drug operation, launched on October 30, 2025, has led to the arrest of 3,361 suspects in islandwide raids conducted by the Sri Lanka Police within just three days.

According to the weekly progress report, 3,370 raids were carried out between October 30 and November 1 under the directives of the IGP. Large quantities of heroin, “ice,” cocaine, cannabis, Kush, Madanamodaka, and Mawa were seized, along with 162,164 cannabis plants.

Investigations into illegal assets have begun against six suspects, while 72 have been placed under detention orders. Thirty-eight individuals were referred for rehabilitation as part of the campaign’s broader focus on rehabilitation and community empowerment to combat drug abuse.
