Sri Lanka Customs says this year’s expected revenue could be achieved within the next three days.

Customs Director Chandan Punchihewa highlighted that the country recorded the highest single-day revenue in its history on November 6, amounting to Rs. 27.7 billion. He noted that previously, the highest single-day collection had been Rs. 24.4 billion on October 15, 2025.

“In the history of customs collection, the highest revenue in a single day was recorded on October 15, 2025, when we collected over Rs. 24 billion. On November 6, we surpassed that with Rs. 27.7 billion, which is now the highest single-day revenue in the history of tax collection in Sri Lanka,” Punchihewa said.

He added that the annual tax target is Rs. 2.115 trillion and that as of yesterday, total collections had reached Rs. 2,066.7 billion. “By next Wednesday, we expect to achieve our annual revenue target, and beyond that, we can exceed it,” he said.
