
A judicial official of the Galle High Court has been arrested for soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 3500 has been arrested by the Bribery Commission.
According to the Bribery Commission, the suspect had solicited the bribe to provide a notice postponing the hearing of a case being heard at the Galle Additional Magistrate’s Court.
The suspect was arrested following a complaint filed by the complainant, a party to the case being deliberated at the Galle Additional Magistrate’s Court.
The judicial official has been remanded until November 28 after being produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday. (Newswire)
