The Road Development Authority (RDA) has announced that all expressways in Sri Lanka will temporarily operate free of charge due to the severe weather conditions affecting the country.
The decision has been taken to ease traffic flow and support emergency travel as heavy rains and flooding continue to disrupt transportation. The RDA said toll collection has been suspended with immediate effect and will remain so until further notice.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution as certain stretches may still be affected by adverse weather.
