The Department of Meteorology says the Colombo area is likely to experience showers or thundershowers on most days during the period from 8 to 14 December, mainly after 2.00 p.m.
Winds over the coastal region are expected to remain north-easterly between 5–10 knots, strengthening to 10–20 knots and gusting up to 25 knots on 14 December. Seas in the area will remain slight, but may become slight to moderate toward the end of the period.
Visibility is forecast to be generally good, but may become poor during showers. The forecast also warns that temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas could occur during thundershowers.
