
A new Bailey bridge, provided under the assistance of the Indian government, is being installed to replace the destroyed Iranawila bridge located in the Mahawa Divisional Secretariat area.
According to the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, the construction of the new bridge is being carried out with the support of the Road Development Authority and the Indian Army.
Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, Bimal Rathnayake, inspected the construction work of the bridge yesterday (08).
The minister emphasized the urgent need to restore daily transport activities that have been disrupted due to the destruction of the bridge, and requested all parties to work together in a coordinated mechanism to achieve this. (Newswire)
