
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the recruitment of 2,284 personnel to various government institutions, based on recommendations from a committee appointed to review the recruitment process and manage public sector staffing.
The committee, chaired by the Secretary to the Prime Minister, was tasked with identifying staffing needs, setting priorities, and establishing timelines.
It reviewed requests from ministries and government entities regarding existing vacancies.
Approval was granted following the submission of a proposal by the Prime Minister, in line with recommendations from the Officials’ Committee meeting held on Nov. 14, 2025, the government said.
The approved recruitments are as follows:
• Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development: 778
• Ministry of Health and Mass Media: 480
• Western Provincial Council: 230
• Ministry of Justice and National Integration: 222
• Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education: 196
• Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development: 107
• Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation: 74
• Ministry of Defence: 73
• Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development: 36
• Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs: 21
• Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources: 20
• Ministry of Finance, Policy Planning and Economic Development: 19
