
Siddhalepa, a flagship brand of the Hettigoda Group of Companies, has been recognised for its commitment to scientific research and innovation at the SLTC Research & Innovation Awards 2025, held on 12 November at the BMICH.
The company secured two prestigious accolades for its research project titled “Exploring the Bioactivity of Siddhalepa Asamodagam Spirit,” reaffirming its focus on evidence-based advancement in Ayurveda and traditional medicine.
Siddhalepa received the Outstanding Research Collaboration Award in Healthcare, Wellness & Life Science Research, recognising the strength of its partnership between industry researchers and academic institutions. The award highlights the value of collaboration in advancing scientific knowledge and validating traditional healthcare solutions.
In addition, the project was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Indexed Journal Publication, underscoring the quality, credibility, and international recognition of the research findings.

Organised by Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC), the awards celebrate excellence in industrial research, innovation, and industry–academia collaboration. The 2025 edition attracted more than 100 applications, with over 40 awards presented across industry, university, and faculty-level categories.
The ceremony brought together leading academics, researchers, and industry representatives and was presided over by Prof. Chandrika Wijeyaratne, Vice Chancellor of SLTC, and Dr. Lakshitha Pahalagedara, Chairperson of the Organising Committee. Krishan Bhalendra, Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, attended as Guest of Honour, alongside several national and international dignitaries.
Hettigoda Industries emerged as the only industry award winner, reinforcing Siddhalepa’s leadership in driving scientifically validated progress in the healthcare and wellness sector.
Siddhalepa said the recognition strengthens its resolve to continue investing in rigorous research to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy across its Ayurveda and traditional healthcare solutions, while expressing appreciation to SLTC for the honour.
