
Former Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Dhammika Ranatunga, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) earlier today, has been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
Ranatunga was arrested in connection with alleged irregularities in fuel procurement during the 2017/2018 period, which are said to have caused a financial loss of around Rs. 800 million to the State.
The case was taken up before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today, where the court ordered that Ranatunga be released on bail. Investigations into the matter are continuing. (Newswire)
