Sri Lanka Cricket has launched volunteer recruitment for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, inviting young men and women aged between 18 and 35 to be part of the global cricket event to be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India.

According to Sri Lanka Cricket, walk-in interviews will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis in Colombo and Kandy for prospective volunteers who wish to contribute to one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

In Colombo, interviews will be held on Dec. 20, 2025, at Sri Lanka Cricket Headquarters, No. 35 Maitland Place, Colombo 7, from 10.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. A second round of interviews will take place in Kandy on Jan. 3, 2026, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Digana, during the same time period.

Sri Lanka Cricket said applicants must be fluent in English and Sinhala, with Tamil considered an added advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork, punctuality, responsibility, and physical fitness are among the key requirements. Prior experience in events, sports, or hospitality will also be considered an advantage.

Candidates attending the walk-in interviews are required to bring a completed bio-data application, National Identity Card or passport, educational certificates, a Grama Niladhari certificate, and any relevant experience or reference letters.

Sri Lanka Cricket said the volunteer programme offers an opportunity for selected individuals to proudly represent Sri Lanka’s hospitality, culture, and passion for cricket during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be staged in Colombo and Kandy.
