Sri Lanka to unveil 07 new Ayurdevic products

The unveiling of seven new products identified in 2025 by the Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation will take place under the patronage of Minister of Health Nalinda Jayatissa, tomorrow (30 Dec) at 10.00 am in Nawinna.

According to the Ministry of Health, expanding its portfolio further, the Corporation will introduce medicinal products such as Kubja Prasarini Oil, Bala Koranda Oil, Panchavalkala Churna, and the Corporation’s Bone Marrow Tablet, along with herbal products including Pinda Balm, Rathhadun Body Wash, and Panchavalkala Shampoo.

In addition, the distribution of Ayurvedic medicines will continue to be carried out primarily through state institutions, and an evaluation of the Corporation based on state sector purchases made in 2024 will also be conducted alongside the launch.

At present, the Corporation manufactures about 194 products and 450 production units, functioning as a pioneer in Ayurvedic medicine production in Sri Lanka.

For over 56 years, the Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation has been producing Ayurvedic medicines and herbal products, distributing them to Ayurvedic hospitals, dispensaries, practitioners, and the public across the island, thereby serving as a national health service.

The event will be attended by Corporation Chairperson Geethamani S. Karunaratne, Managing Director Dr. M.J. Marasinghe, officials of the Ministry of Health, officers of the Department of Ayurveda and provincial Ayurveda departments, as well as deans of the Faculties of Ayurveda Medicine in local universities and other officials connected to the Ayurvedic sector.
