
Saffron Aviation (Pvt) Ltd, which operates Cinnamon Air, says it is working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), following an operational incident involving one of its amphibian aircraft at Lake Gregory in Nuwara Eliya.
Issuing a statement, Saffron Aviation (Pvt) Ltd said the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is currently conducting an on‑site assessment of the incident which occurred earlier today during landing on the waters of Lake Gregory.
Saffron Aviation (Pvt) Ltd further said that no passengers were on board at the time, and all crew members are safe with no injuries or casualties reported.
Stating that safety remains its highest priority, it added that in addition to cooperating with CAASL, the airline has initiated its own internal review of the incident.
Cinnamon Air has been in commercial operations since 2013 and has safely carried over 80,000 passengers to date. (Newswire)
