Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi arrives in Sri Lanka

India’s Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi arrived in Sri Lanka today for a two-day official visit, the Indian Ministry of Defence announced.

During his visit, Gen. Dwivedi will meet with key military and civil leaders, including the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, the Deputy Minister of Defence, and the Defence Secretary. Discussions will focus on training cooperation, capacity building, and regional security.

He is also scheduled to address officers at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and engage with personnel at the Army War College in Buttala.

General Dwivedi will also pay tribute at the IPKF War Memorial.

According to the Indian Ministry of Defence, the visit reinforces India’s dedication to strengthening defence ties and enhancing regional interoperability in the Indian Ocean Region. (Newswire)
