
The Chief of the Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi, paid an official visit to the Sri Lanka Army War College today
During the visit, General Dwivedi was received by the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army War College, Major General D.K.R.N. Silva.
As part of the programme, the Indian Army Chief laid the foundation stone for the proposed Indo–Sri Lanka Sports Complex, which is to be constructed with Indian assistance. The project is aimed at strengthening defence cooperation and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
In a gesture symbolising bilateral cooperation, General Dwivedi also donated an ambulance to the Sri Lanka Army War College. He later engaged in an informal interaction with student officers of the institution. (Newswire)
