Born from Parenthood, Built with Purpose
The concept of beeboobaa grew from a personal parenting journey. Founders Vidhya Kandeban and Kandeban Balendran, parents to two young boys, were constantly searching for a space that went beyond play a place where children could freely think, create, explore and learn in a joyful way.
“What we realised was that such a space simply didn’t exist in Colombo,” says Vidhya Kandeban, Founder & CEO of beeboobaa. “That’s when beeboobaa became more than an idea — it became our mission.”
Instead of replicating a traditional crèche or activity centre, beeboobaa has been designed as a creative learning ecosystem — a space that encourages collaboration, discovery and self-expression through purposeful play.
Where Learning Feels Like Play
At beeboobaa, children are invited to explore a variety of carefully curated activity zones that stimulate both creativity and cognitive development. These include LEGO and structured play areas, storytelling and reading corners, art and craft studios, guided creative workshops, and open exploration spaces that allow imagination to lead the way.
Each zone is designed to let children learn naturally without pressure allowing them to grow at their own pace while developing essential life skills such as problem-solving, communication and confidence.
“Our goal is simple,” says Co-Founder & Director Kandeban Balendran. “We want children to fall in love with learning through discovery. Creativity is not just an activity — it’s a life skill that should be nurtured from an early age.”

“This is a long-term vision,” Vidhya shares. “beeboobaa will continue to grow — just like the children who walk through our doors.”
