SLNS Suranimila in Maldives for India–Sri Lanka–Maldives naval exercise

SLNS Suranimila has arrived in the Maldives today (16) to participate in the Trilateral Maritime Exercise DOSTI XVII – 2026, hosted by the Maldives National Defence Force.

The Sri Lanka Navy vessel departed the Port of Colombo on January 14 and was ceremonially sent off in accordance with traditional naval customs. DOSTI XVII – 2026 will be held from January 16 to 19 in Malé, with the participation of the navies of Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives.

The exercise aims to further strengthen maritime security cooperation among the three countries while enhancing interoperability, sharing best practices in maritime operations and identifying emerging challenges in the maritime domain. (Newswire)
