England’s cricketers will reportedly be subject to a midnight curfew during their ongoing tour of Sri Lanka, following disciplinary concerns during the recent Ashes series and the tour of New Zealand.
According to the Daily Mail, players will be required to return to the team hotel by 12.00 midnight each day, unless prior approval is granted by team management. While no formal code of conduct will be issued, the squad is expected to be reminded of their responsibilities as international cricketers upon arrival in Colombo.
Harry Brook’s squad arrived in Sri Lanka today ahead of the twin white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which will be followed by next month’s ICC T20 World Cup.
The report notes that the curfew is part of an effort by England’s management to maintain discipline and focus during the remainder of the winter schedule. (Newswire)
