Casons Taxi will be rebranded as The Taxi Company, effective 10 January 2026, marking the next step in the company’s evolution with a refreshed identity, new logo, and an enhanced digital presence.

Importantly, this is a brand identity update. Operations and service delivery remain unchanged, with no disruption to corporate transport services during the transition.

Key highlights
• Brand name change from Casons Taxi to The Taxi Company
• New logo and updated brand visuals across communications and documents
• New website: thetaxi.lk

A journey that began with research-led discipline

Casons Taxi commenced operations on 13 October 2011, starting with a fleet of 10 red and white coloured Alto cars. What many may not know is that the company was shaped by extensive ground-level research led by CEO Mr Zufer Ahamed, who personally travelled in taxis, compared kilometre rates, and benchmarked service expectations before launching the business, with the support and guidance of his older brother, Mr Zakir Ahamed, Managing Director, a serial entrepreneur with deep experience in the transportation industry.

That research-first approach laid the foundation for a service culture centred on consistency, responsiveness, and controlled execution—principles that have remained central as the company grew.

From taxi operations to end-to-end mobility support

While widely recognised as a taxi service, Casons Taxi has expanded over time into a broader mobility and logistics footprint. In addition to day-to-day passenger transport and corporate staff transport, its services today include hotel transfers, airport transfers, scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs, and baggage transport.

The company has also built in-house capacity for office and house moving, including manpower support for relocations, alongside truck rental solutions to support larger transport and logistics requirements. It also supports the delivery needs of major hospitality operations, including food delivery services for leading hotels in Colombo.

Event movements and project mobility capability

In response to corporate and institutional requirements, the company has developed delivery capability in event transportation and coordination, supporting organised movements where timing, routing, and accountability are essential.

Beyond standard passenger vehicles, Casons Taxi also provides driver-operated pickup trucks and utility vehicles supporting telecommunications, solar, construction, and Government projects—enabling site-based operations and project mobility where consistent availability and coordination are critical for technical teams and supervisory movements.

Recognition for service quality backed by 24/7 customer care

Casons Taxi has positioned itself as a prime corporate mobility provider, with approximately 80 per cent of its operations focused on corporate transport, while maintaining a 24/7 customer care centre supporting both corporate and public customers alike. This service-led operating model has been reinforced through external recognition, with the company being honoured at the Huawei South Asia Supplier Convention 2024 with the “Excellence in Collaboration and Service Award.”

The recognition reflects a focus on consistent delivery standards and an operational approach built on responsiveness and accountability—qualities that have supported the company’s expansion beyond conventional taxi services.

What changes with the rebrand—and what remains the same

Under the rebrand, customers will see The Taxi Company identity across communications, documents, and online touchpoints as the rollout is completed. During the transition period, both names may appear in certain places while updates are finalised.

For a defined transition period to minimise confusion, the company will use the descriptor “The Taxi Company (formerly Casons Taxi)” across key outward-facing touchpoints until the new brand is fully embedded.

For corporate clients, continuity remains the priority. Corporate accounts, operational teams, driver network, support processes, and agreed corporate terms—including rates and billing/payment processes where applicable—will continue as previously agreed.

Digital roadmap

Alongside the rebrand, The Taxi Company is strengthening its digital ecosystem to improve booking control, service coordination, and customer visibility. A driver app is currently in beta, and work is underway to build a corporate portal to support enterprise booking management and reporting, alongside plans for a customer-facing app to enhance convenience for the wider public.

The new website, thetaxi.lk, will be live from 10 January 2026.
