The Court of Appeal has ordered that the written copy and audio recording of the directive issued by the Trincomalee Magistrate’s Court on January 19, remanding Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thera and another monk in connection with the Trincomalee Buddha statue incident, be immediately submitted to the court.
This order was issued by the Court of Appeal today during the hearing of the writ petition filed by Ven. Kassapa Thera and the other monk challenging their remand custody.
Accordingly, the Court of Appeal has scheduled the petition to be reconsidered today at 1.30 pm. (Newswire)
