Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Wednesday met the Mahanayaka Theras of the Malwathu and Asgiriya chapters in Kandy and received their blessings.
Wickremesinghe called on Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera of the Malwathu Chapter and Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter, with discussions reportedly focusing on the current political situation.
Media personnel were not permitted to cover the meetings. However, speaking to journalists afterward, Wickremesinghe said he was no longer involved in active politics. (NewsWire)
